WOW! It has been a long time..........

Well hello everyone,  I had a great summer and I hope you all did too.  The kids went to spend 3 weeks with the grand-parents and can't wait to go back next year.

It is October and it's "National Breast Cancer Awareness Month."  I have 2 friends that are affected by this disease.  One is doing very well and the other not so good.  My family and I are walking on the 16th of October in honor of all those that have been affected by Breast Cancer.  I will also try and wear pink when I can.

A lot has happened in my life since my last blog.  I started cake decoration school and it has been a blast!!  I love it.  I will show you my final cake at the end of my entry.  I had to make a 3 tier wedding cake.  It came out great, everyone love it.  The first tier was chocolate chip, second tier was red velvet, and the third tier was a pomegranate pound cake!  MMMMM

I have acquired MORE fabric!!! (SMH) I have been sewing up a lot of it though.  I made a few things to put on my etsy.  My shop has been doing ok, I know it takes at least 3 years for any business to be successful.  I do a lot of business off etsy though, so that is good too.

I am making some bows right now to list as well.

Well I will try to blog at least once a week, so you all enjoy the rest of the week and I shall see you next week.

Here is my final cake!!!

Here is an outfit I completed today.  It is a one of a kind Top.  It is a size 2T if anyone is interested.

So tell me what you think.

Hello There!

Well it has been a while since my last blog.  Been super busy.  My oldest runs track and he and his team mates made it to the Penn Relays.  They ran the 4x100 relay and they came in 3rd Place!!!  So proud of them.

I had an order for a tote bag and a DST pillow.  They came out great and needless to say to say she loved them both.  I also made a patrotic dress and bow for a friends grand-daughter and again she loved the set.  I am now working on restocking my etsy.  My daughter's seashell angels have been selling like crazy!  She is saving for something special, and at this rate she will have it soon.

I have put myself on a fabric diet.  I have TOO much fabric!  I would like to sew something everyday, but that can't happen if I'm on the computer, now can it?  I will try to write once a week to keep you up to date and show you what I've done that week.  I should be able to write frequently.

Well here are the things completed in the last few weeks.

Hello Blogland!

I have a pretty busy week ahead.  I have got to finish up some projects.  I have a few designs sketched out just need to finish coloring them and then bring them to life.  Tomorrow is St. Patricks Day....can you believe it?  It's the middle of March already! I am cooking cornbeef brisket, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and got to have some cornbread to go with it.  Aaron loves cornbread!!

Aziyah sold 3 more seashell angles today.  She is so excited!  She is saving up to buy an Ipod touch.  She has expensive taste for a 10 year old!

The kids have 1 more week before they are out for spring break and they can't wait.  Kind of strange out here though, Jordan only gets 1 week for spring break (high school) and Aziyah and Aaron (elementary) gets 2 weeks.  Don't make any sense to me.

This is "National Craft Month" do a craft with your family.  I am on the hunt for a craft we can all do together as a family.  I will post it when we are done.

Well I shall see you all in about a week.  Chow!

WOW! March Already?

Hello out there in blog land!  Can you believe it is already March?!  My how time is flying.  Well I have been busy busy busy......trying to sew up all my stash.  There is soooo much pretty fabric out there I can hardly contain myself.  I have a dear friend in New York, who I miss so much!  They are "STEELERS" fans and she saw these pillows and fell in love with them, so I decided to make her one for Christmas (she just got it).  It took me some time because I had some other orders to fill and finally got around to hers.  Didn't want to just do her name since the whole family loves the Steelers I decided to make one with the family's last name, so they can put it in their collection.  When I say collection I mean collection! They are serious fans.

Our hubbys were both in the Marine Corp and we met after being stationed in Jacksonville, NC.  Our sons were the same age and became great friends, we use to call Elena Jordan's second mom.  They moved to New York and we moved to California, but we still keep in touch with each other.  Perhaps one day we'll have a military family reunion.  Her hubby has since retired and mine has about 8 years to go, if he decides to retire at 20 years.  Here is a picture of the pillow.

Happy Valentines Day!!!!

I hope you all had a great day. I had a wonderful day.  The weather was beautiful too, which made it even more grand.  We went to church and the word was good.  The greatest love of all time is John 3:16.  There is no greater love!!!!  I thank God each and every day for giving his Son so that we may have eternal life.

Working on some things right now, got to finish up 2 outfits to list.  One is a halter dress and the other is a baby Miami Dolphins outfit.  They are both looking cute.  When I'm done I will post a pic so you can see.

Well have a great week everyone!

"Happy Birthday Aziyah!!"

Hello Everyone!

I pray all is well with you.  We are doing great out here in Cali.  Today is Aziyah's 10th Birthday!  I can't believe that ten years ago she was born.  My how time flies!!!  It feels like yesterday I was holding my sweet angelic little girl.  I loved dressing her in all the little ruffles and frills with little socks and shoes to match...now she just wants to wear some jeans and a cute t-shirt.  She still looks cute and is growing into a beautiful young lady.  I am so proud of her.

About 2 weeks ago she went to her first daddy daughter dance.  It was a cinderella theme.  I wanted to go, but they said NO MOMMIES aloud!  UGH!  The nerve of them.  They wore red and black.  I made her a pretty tea length dress and did her hair all nice and pretty.  She had a GREAT time!  Daddy said he didn't realize what a little party animal she is.  She didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay until it was completely over.  They left @ 7:30 pm and it was over @ 8.

Well needless to say I didn't get a chance to decorate my tree for Valentines Day. I have been so busy lately.  I am stocking up for my site and getting other things completed and mailed out.  I made a cute little Miami Dolphins outfit.  It is so adorable, I can't wait to see it on.  Will show you a pic of it.  Tell me what you think.

I will get the tree decorated for Easter though and will definitely show it to you.  I pulled out the basket for the front table in the foyer, so that is a start. I will get the eggs and other things out and do it, promise.

Well you all take care and will see you soon.

"GO DARRYL"

Hello Everyone!

I pray you all have been enjoying the new year.  It is already the middle of January!  Valentines Day will be here before you know it.....got to get my tree decorated.  Will show you when it's done.  I have some little felt hearts and red bows to hang on it, along with some red beads.

Our oldest son ran his first collegiate track meet of the year.  He did an awesome job!  He made it to the finals and he placed as well.  He has to find out what place and then I can let you know.  He is doing a great job in school as well.  We are so proud of him!!!!!!

So I made the cookies and they were delicious!  I didn't get a chane to take a picture to show you, but take my word they looked good.  Did I tell you I love my new mixer?!!!!!!!  Made some pumpkin bread the othernight too and it was delicious.  The kids LOVED it.

So are you making any Valentines Day crafts?  Do share them.  I don't have any planned at the moment, but I have moved on to Easter.:-)

I have been sewing like crazy!  Finished the Tweety Bird backpack too.  I wasn't too happy the way it turned out, so I let Jordan take it to school to give away.  I do this a lot.  He said he knows someone who'd like it.  Feel free to tell me what you think.

Well gotta run, so you all take care and hope to blog again next week.

A New Day

So, yesterday was dear Hubby's birthday.  He just wanted a nice quiet dinner at home with family.  He and Jordan had to take the tree to the recycling place and then I had to vacuum up all the pine needles.  I didn't water the tree for a few days so there wouldn't be much water in it once they got ready to take it out.  We had a 7 ft tree!  It was beautiful though.  I just loved everytime I walked in I could smell the pine. AHHHH!

Well I cooked hubby some fried chicken (yum), so chicken fried rice and peas and carrots- peach cobbler was desert!  I must say that Aaron gave him a run for his money.... he ate 3 big legs just like daddy!  Aaron can eat.  Needless to say that Aaron and Phonso had the same amount of food.

I cut out another little aline dress, this will be going in my shop too.  I now have 12 items listed...Yea me!  My plan is to TRY and sew something everyday, although I do have other things to do in between stitches.  Well I'm getting ready to go and get dinner ready for tonight plus I'm baking cookies with my new kitchen aid mixer!  Phonso got it for me for Christmas. He is the greatest!  See ya.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I pray that you all had a great CHSRITmas!  We had a great time here.  Our oldest son and his girlfriend came for CHRISTmas and we enjoyed them.  Krystin enjoyed herself so much she didn't want to leave.  She was a joy to have.  While she was here we had a small earthquake on Wednesday.  It woke her up.  She said she was glad to have experienced it.  The kids enjoyed seeing thier brother.

I don't make resolutions anymore, my hubby says they are goals.  My goal for this year is to make something everyday.  I have sooooo much fabric that I need to destash.  I am going to start on some Valentines items.  I have kept my small white CHRISTmas tree down. I am going to decorate it for every holiday.  This is going to be fun!  I have white lights on it and I plan to put red bows, hearts and red beads (as garland) for Valentines Day.  Will take a picture of it once it's decorated.

Wishing you all a new year filled with lots of happiness, prosperity, good health and much love.
